Today is Sunday old man winter has made himself known and left a foot of snow on us
so for the safety of the congeration we had to cancel our morning worship service.  So I will be ministering my word for the new year on Sunday 1/06/2013.  I believe the the Lord has spoken to me that the coming year will be a year of double portion for those who will recieve it in faith.  So as we begin our fast in four days please be mindful of this in your prayers and meditation as well as keep it in the forefront of your mind during your daily activities.  Remember to drink plenty of water, if you are unable to fast food for health reasons there are other ways you can participate with us you could fast television, video games, internet, facebook, etc. Then use that time for prayer, meditation and reading the word of God. If  you are unable to join us in our fast please join us in our daily reading.  The reading for January 2nd  is:
Matthew 1:1 - 12:34  Here are a few suggestions for fasting

  • During a fast it is best to take normal eating times and spend them in prayer.

As we all prepare for our fast I want to begin by saying I Believe God has called me to a forty day fast. I will be only drinking liquids during my fast. I asked that you seek the  Lord as to the type of fast the is best for you.  I asked that those joining me in the fast in our church at least "Daniel Fast" for twenty one days with me.  I believe that Jesus taught that fasting should be a spiritual discipline for all believers.  He said when you fast not if you fast.  Matthew 6:17

  • SIMPLY STATED, BIBLICAL FASTING IS REFRAINING FROM FOOD FOR A SPIRITUAL PURPOSE
  • When you give God your first through fasting, prayer and giving at the beginning of the year, you set the course for the entire year.
Here are several reasons for fasting

  • Fasting To Free ourselves from sin and addiction
  • Fasting To  Solve Problems.
  • Fast For Souls and Revival.
  • Fasting To Break Emotional Problems In Our Lives
  • Fasting for wisdom in ministry decisions.
  • Fasting For Healing
  • Fast for Protection from the evil one.
  • Are you in need of healing or a miracle?
  • Do you need the tender touch of God in your life?
  • Is there a dream inside you that only He can make possible?
  • Are you in need of a fresh encounter?
  • Do you desire a deeper, more intimate and powerful relationship with the Lord?
  • Are you ready to have heightened sensitivity to the desires of God?
  • Do you need to break away from bondages that have been holding you hostage?
  • Is there a friend or loved one that needs Salvation?
  • Do you desire to know God's will for your life?

The Practice of Fasting: a Definition

• Fasting is the setting aside of certain desires and satisfactions for the fulfillment of higher desires and satisfactions. Fasting is setting aside some of my personal pleasures, so that I might serve others, freeing them from bondage and meeting their physical needs. Now, fasting is not viewed in terms of one’s relationship to his neighbor (verses 6-12), but rather in terms of one’s relationship with God.
